Event Description
Today, by the inspiration and initiatives of Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Shrimati Mamta Banerjee, Haldia Municipality with Yuva Kalyan Department is celebrating Rakhi Utsav.
On this eve, respected chairman of Haldia Municipality Shree Deba Prasad Mondal on his speech remind us that Rabindranath Tagore, the Indian Nobel Laureate for literature, invoked Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi, as concepts to inspire love, respect and a vow of mutual protection between Hindus and Muslims during India's colonial era. He used the idea of Raksha Bandhan to spread the feeling of brotherhood.
Therefore, he said that today we need to forget the differences between us and need to unite again through this Raki utsav by following the path shown us by Rabindranath Tagore.
