A Talk Show Regarding Draft Proposal

Haldia Municipality has initiated the process of citizen consultations for Round 2 of the “Smart City Challenge”where the Pan-city smart solutions and Area Based Development draft proposal has been created with citizen consultation and voting on MyGov.in. To discuss this draft proposal this Talk Show was organized where the following panelists and eminent citizens from were present. Among these prominent citizens were representing different cross-section of society. Teachers, Professor, Advocates, Law students, Artists, Writer, Journalists, Transports etc. many has participated and interacted in the Talk show. Our panelists chaired by:

Haldia Municipal Chairman Shri Deba Prasad Mondal opened the session by welcome speech followed by the Honorable DM, PurbaMidinapur. After her other panelists express their opinion in the talk show.

Dr. SumanaDasgupta, Superintendent S.D. Hospital, PurbaMedinipur made some points about the unified heath care service adopted in the Smart City draft proposal followed by the Haldia Energy Limited’s GM Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee. He discussed about the disaster management for Haldia. Mr. N. Pusty an expert of Disaster Management and Social Housing of ARKITECHNO highlighted the major concerns about the disaster management and suggested some ideas that can adopted in the proposal.

This was followed by the Addl. SP of PurbaMidinipur Mr. K.S. Ahmed who made his speech about smart policing in Haldia city and introduction of rapid resolution of public complain. He has also informed about the new initiatives like Women Help Line Number for women and A new outpost at Nayachar Island that has been taken by the police department.

Most of the citizens in the Talk show has largely approved the draft proposal and few have made new suggestions also. Before the vote of thanks of delivered by Mr. JagatBandu Das, Nodal Officer Smart city essay competition award has be given in two categories general and student. The award is handed over to the winners by honorable DM of PurbaMidinipur.

All the citizens and stakeholders of HaldiaSmart City are requested to submit their suggestions online on Mygov.in to the draft proposal for Pan-City smart solution and Area Based Development by 15th Nov. 2015

Haldia Municipality, located at the southern part of Purba Medinipur district, West Bengal, is bounded by 22o03'36.4" Latitude and 88o04'39" Longitude. Haldi River flows by the western side of the Municipality and Hugh river flows on the south-eastern part. The Dock complex is on the southern part of the Municipality. It is bordered by, Sutahata block in the north, Hugh river in the east and south and Haldi river in the west, which are the main two distributaries of the river Ganga.
